Here is a non-talking video guide to the 'Four Stars' Hotel in Sussex Gardens near Paddington Station, London, UK. A single room with toilet & shower is £59 per night. QUICK REVIEW: Note that this is definitely NOT a true 4 star hotel! This is a budget hotel with small rooms, soap, towels and TV included. Unfortunately the en suite room has what looks like black mold throughout, with little room for a proper shower. The hotel is also VERY noisy, the floorboards creak on the landing by the stairs, so if you or your neighbors are moving around at night you will definitely hear it loudly. The windows are thin so the noise outside is very audible, the traffic here is busy and continuous all night. It's a shame because this old townhouse could have a lot of charm and if renovated it could be a very attractive hotel option. This one is not. Also note that the heating is not controllable, I asked the front desk staff if they could turn it down as it was very high and burned to the touch, making the room very humid. He claimed the heating was the same level throughout the hotel and other guests would complain if it was turned down, however it could be controlled via the manager's cell phone and he would call the manager to turn it down and I should open the window overnight as well. I objected because I would be open to the elements with the bugs and the huge amount of traffic noise on Sussex Gardens Road. He said he would call the manager to turn the heater down… Hours later that night, the heating was still really on and never turned down a degree. A very uncomfortable and noisy night ensued. Economy hotels should at least be clean, quiet and safe. I'm not sure if all that mold is a health hazard! If you have any ideas please leave a comment. Definitely avoid. Hotel Fours Stars gets 0 stars.

  1. I stayed here in 1978.
It had better furniture then. But it’s gotten creepier
