    Macbook Air M3 13” (16/512) or Macbook Pro M3 Pro 14”(18/512)?

    Hi, I currently consider the 2 models (this should be my first mac os device).
    I will use the laptop for:
    – Figma
    – Graphic Design Softwares (Affinity Kit, Krita)
    – MS Office (maybe no heavy excel files)
    – Casual web-surfing
    – Football Manager (i thinking i’ll play only this game on the laptop)

    For this price, I’d like to use the laptop for 5y+. I don’t really know my future demands.
    The screen quality difference is nice-to-have feature but not the deciding element. My main concern is about thermal problem (as MBA has no fan) and future-proof cpu/gpu capacity.

    Please gimme some advices. Thanks very much!

  9. I work on the go in FL. It’s hot most days and I work outside at cigar/coffee shops often. I’m currently using an early 2015 pro with i7 processor. But it gets HOT, and the fans are super loud I can hear it working hard.

    What model would work the best in the heat considering the efficiency of the air but the benefit of having a fan on the pro? Which path should I take?

  20. I don't really know what to choose.
    the MacBook M3 Air 16GB/512GB (€1,760) or the MacBook M3 Pro 8GB/512GB (€1,850). I would mainly use it to edit photos on Photoshop. The better screen quality and the SD card slot on the PRO model is a big advantage for me. Or am I better off with the Air M3 16GB/512GB because it has more RAM? I use a Nikon D750 and edit an average of 500 photos per year. So not a heavy user I guess? My current laptop is an Acer nitro 5 (8GB/512GB) from 2019

If you need portability for a quick getaway such as: your house is on fire; your wife tells you to get out before she calls the cops; you get a tip the FBI is on way to your house to search/confiscate your stuff; things like this, Mac Mini is the only way to go. My set up allows me to grab the two minis, my keyboard and mouse and split the scene within minutes. At my new location I buy a display, and I am in business again. Ultra portability is the only way to go plus keep a stash of cash. I'm 81 and have been through 4 wives, brushes with the law during divorces, IRS problems with my small businesses, a house fire set by divorcing wife, etc. etc. You young men STAY MOBILE!!! Life is gonna throw you some curves. Best wishes.

    I cannot choose between mba 15inch m2 8/512 or mba 13inch m3 16/512 or mbp 14inch m3 8/512? All cost relatively same in my country. Im thinking mainly about m3 16/512, but the 13inch is enough?

  26. Are you able to borrow/“procure” two »identical« M3 MacBook Pros, one, the base configuration, RAM and SSD; the second with »max« RAM and SSD, and then identically benchmark BOTH?

    I’m dying to know if the heat that RAM generates and the SCORCHING 🔥 heat SSDs are infamous for causes a performance hit if they are larger in capacity inside the identical chassis. Will the fan in the RAM/SSD-maxxed out MacBook Pro compensate — so no performance hit? Are they louder because of more fan activity? And does lower RAM and SSD capacity in an Apple Silicon MacBook Pro equate to higher performance? If so, how much? Negligible or significant?

    (I see a lot of video comparisons that say things like, “Well, this one’s a 14-inch not a 16-inch, but that shouldn’t matter in the comparison…” But, as you know, driving a larger, higher resolution display makes SoCs work harder, but at the same time, the larger chassis size allows more room for heat dissipation, so the only apt comparisons are between identical models except for, as I said, RAM and SSD size.)
